History of Beume et Mercier Watches
Baume & Mercier watch has over 170 years of watch making history.
Beginning in 1830 two Baume brothers, who's family had been in the watch
making business since the mid-1500s, established the Baume Freres Watch
firm in the Swiss Juna Region. In 1918 a grandson of the founder,
William Baume met Paul Mercier, and they created a business partnership.
In 1921 Baume & Mercier received the coveted Poinçon de Genéve, the
highest honour given master watchmakers by the Republic and Canton of
Geneva. Baume & Mercier's long-standing criteria of accuracy and design
make it today a brand at the forefront of contemporary luxury.
